Welcome to The Open Flame Steak House & Lounge, located in Gilbert, Iowa.
The Open Flame is a family owned “grill your own” Steak House & Lounge specializing in steak, chicken, and shrimp dinners.
Don’t want to grill your own? Don’t worry, we’ll grill it for you!
The Open Flame also features a full service bar and we offer a variety of wines. We have often feature nightly specials–and we always have Prime Rib on Fridays and Saturday evenings!
Want to have a party? Party rooms are available Monday through Sunday. We regularly host events like birthday parties, anniversaries, holiday parties, wedding receptions, graduation parties and rehearsal dinners so make arrangements now.

We may be known for our Steaks, but we proudly offer several specialty items from Shrimp, a Black and Bleu Salad (add blackened NY Strip or Blackened Chicken Breast), a Surf and Turf Feature, and our signature Creamy Chicken Pasta!

We proudly feature several steak burgers every night–from our classic ‘Steak Burger’ to our famous ‘Mushroom and Swiss Burger’ to our ever-popular ‘Bacon Cheeseburger’–and each comes with your choice of french fries, baked potato or side salad.

Looking for something different? Try our Philly Steak Sandwhich, our hand-breaded Pork Tenderloin, Patty Melt, French Dip or Chicken Club! Each sandwhich comes with your choice of french fries, baked potato, or side salad.
Appetizers
Start-off with one of our famous apetizers for the table to share–featuring our famous Freddie’s Special (layered potato skins with cheese sauce topped with onion rings)! We also regularly feature loaded potato skins, cheddar cheese balls, breaded mushrooms–and a full sampler platter!

The Open Flame proudly features a fully-stocked bar along with a rotating selection of seasonal and micro-brew beers on tap!
Kid’s Menu
For Kid’s 10 and under, we have several options available from a burger, grilled cheese, chicken strips and mac and cheese. Each kid’s menu item comes with a choice of french fries, baked potato or side salad.
